It’s not always necessary to increase your SEO rankings to get more visitors to your website. There are a few tricks you can use to make your website’s listing stand out from the rest. It will draw more eyes to it & get more clicks- meaning more visitors and sales!
Let’s get into it!
Make Your Title Tag More Compelling
In the SERPs, the title tag appears as the bold clickable link. It is the first thing that a browser will look at to decide if the site is worth visiting.
It amazes me how many businesses fail to make this compelling enough. It’s essential that you get into the mind of the consumer- and match the title tag specifically to what they are looking for.
Of course, the title tag is one of the most important factors when it comes to ranking, so you need to get your target keywords in there. But, do it in a way that makes your business stand out from the crowd.
Stand Out With Your Meta Description
The Meta description appears directly underneath the title tag, and most businesses use a boring description of their company.
The thing is, the title tag has already described the page that they will be landing on- so repeating it in a different way underneath just doesn’t make sense.
Why not present a USP here, something that makes you stand out from everybody else. It could be free shipping, new customer discount, or your price if you are the cheapest.
Anything that makes you different from the rest should go here.
Adjust To Current Events
This is something that you can do with both your title tag and Meta description. If a seasonal event like Christmas is coming up, why not take advantage of it?
If your product is something that people would likely buy as a present, switch your title and description over to capitalize on it.
If somebody is looking for something specifically for Christmas, seeing what they are looking for with a mention of Christmas next to it will dramatically increase the chance of them clicking.
You need to make sure you do it in advance though, you want to make sure you give the search engines enough time to crawl your site and place the new data in their search results.
Google Authorship- Happy Face = More Clicks
I expect you have already noticed that some listings in Google have a person’s picture next to them. Did you have any idea how much this affects click through rate? It’s massive!
Take a decent, smiley photo of yourself, or anybody else that could represent your business. Then, use this guide to get that photo to appear. Simple!
